Today the pupils at Duneane had the very great pleasure of chatting to an author who had connections to our school community. There was great excitement as the author, Gina Wolfenden McDowell, who now lives in South Africa chatted to the children over zoom about her book 'Ronny G's Travels'. She explained to us how the book was based on her travel experiences around the world and things that actually happened to her throughout her life. One of our P7 pupils at Duneane who has a family connection to Gina then read an extract from her book. Gina discussed with the children the process involved in writing and getting a book published and the children then had an opportunity at the end to ask her some questions. It was a very interesting and informative talk. Thank you Gina for taking the time to talk to us all the way from South Africa!
