In November, we remember.
8th Nov 2023
Today in Assembly our guest speaker Rev. Ryan McKee delivered an excellent talk about Remembrance Day, why we observe Remembrance Day on 11th November and the story and symbolism behind the poppy. He was able to show some of the army barracks in Toome and out by Aughrim which were used during World War 2 by American Servivemen. To finish Rev. McKee linked the poppy with the Bible. Thank you to Rev. McKee for delivering such a lovely presentation, befitting of the time and of interest to the children.
Children in P4 to P7 got the opportunity to make poppy wreaths to commemorate Remembrance Day.
